Beethoven or Mozart? I’ve recently gotten into classical music and I enjoy these two. I also like Percy Granger. I find this type of music helps me to study…

Also, I love piano and think Chopin is excellent. Any recommendations on good piano pieces?

I know that listening to Mozart makes you smarter. But do other composers have the same effect as well. How bout composers like Prokofiev, Rachmaninoff, Schumann, Ravel or Holst?

If you go on Youtube there are some different tunes played with the harmonica in classical music. I was wondering if this can be done with any harmonica or do certain types lend themselves better to certain types of music?

Thanks.

The lead-pipe area where the serial number is usually located on a Bach has been replaced at some point, and the serial number on it is probably not the correct one. Is there any other way to date the trombone?

ok so this is more of an opinion question

you know how people say babies are smarter when they listen to classical music

The “Mozart Effect”

well why is that?

I think it’s because of all the different sounds (instruments) and soothing tones…the calming effects and concentrating on those different sound and tones

well then why not Trance

and I’m talking just trance (which is a form of Electronica) and I’m not talking about crazy….Techno, Electro ,Hardstyle or drum and bass which are completely different forms of Electronica

I’m talking about trance and or down tempo….for its calming qualities

if you don’t know what Trance is specifically don’t answer

all i know is that trance calms me down and i love to listen to all the different sounds building up to a climax and then down again…and the beautiful female vocals in a lot of them…like Jennifer Rene

my first daughter listened to Trance inside of the womb…and out…and still does to this day…and all i have to say is that she is smart as hell.

was it the music?

now baby girl number two (three weeks old) listens to Trance with me all day and sometimes when shes sleeping and the song changes (and stops for a few seconds) she lets out a little cry until the next song starts

is it just the constant noise that she likes or something else?

am I just crazy or do you think I’m on to something here

maybe just not trance but other types of calming music (besides classical) is good for babies too like reggae or jazz

I just want your thoughts

be nice!

Could someone give me a source for a study investigating the effects of music on concentration?

I know there is a Mozart study somewhere, but I can’t seem to find it.
