Fadi Ayat Classical Music“Classic Music” is a term used to refer to a wide range of music that is produced in or rooted in the traditions of Western art, ecclesiastical and concert music. It has been spanning the ages from the 9th century to the present time. Classical music is still played by many of...
Adam Singleton For too long, classical music has been regarded as the domain of instrumentalists, composers, academic musicologists and, typically, anyone over 40 years old. But while the majority of today's youth would rather listen to Britney Spears' greatest hits or watch My Chemical Romance on MTV, the view that young people are completely uninterested...

Lanny Hintz Playing a musical instrument is a gift to all those who hear it. Does it really matter if you play a classical musical instrument or a contemporary musical instrument? It can. First and foremost, playing a musical instrument should be fun and rewarding. If it's not, you are not likely to practice it...

Malcolm Blake The warp and woof of music are rhythm and melody, and the drums are the rhythm instruments par excellence. It is easier to recognize a song by its rhythm without melody than it is by its melody without rhythm, which shows what a basic part of music is rhythm.Primitive music is more rhythm...
Eric de Fontenay Michael Perlowin breaks new ground with innovative and enjoyable music performed primarily and surprisingly on the pedal steel guitar. As with his forays into the world of Debussy, Stravinsky and Broadway with his Firebird Suite and West Side Story albums, Michael Perlowin is again shattering the stereotype of the pedal steel guitar as...
Mike Freemen Classical music is at once one of the best known and least understood forms of music, and many music fans who feel they would never like classical music are surprised at just how enjoyable it can be.Of course, classical music can take a great many forms, and not every music fan will appreciate...

There is this site called Pandora.com and it is pretty much your own radio station, for free, and without signing up. You type in a name of a song or an artist and then you can listen to music by that artist and other songs that are pretty much the same. On it you can also rate songs and if you rate one song really bad, then they won’t ever play it again for you. Good luck! Also, if you do go on Pandora.com, look up the Vitamin C Quartet, they are a classical group where they take ordinary pop/hip hop/ whatever songs and make them into classical music.

There’s another website called musicovery.com
It’s really cool check it out, you put in what genre and what mood of music you want, and it picks songs for you.

The UK classical music stations, and., both stream their programmes live. I also had a link to some free download sites – but it is bookmarked on my Firefox browswer which I can’t open for some reason:( However, the sites listed weren’t very interesting, altho I did get a free set of Bach’s Brandenburgs via Czech Radio). There was also a link to an old record label which was allowing downloads of its back (mainly baroque) catalogue, but the last time I looked they had started charging.
Unfortunately, by and large in this world you get owt for nowt (as the old Yorkshire saying has it) – and remember musicians and composers have to eat as well as you and I and are therefore, entitled to be payed for their labours.
