Today, I don’t pay much attention to the purist’s approach. Different readings are possible, but as Woody Allen would say: “Whatever works”. It definitely works here.

I think you may be wrong. “Bäcker” has changed to”Baker”
in English. So “Beck” for “Glenn Beck” also means “narrow
stream”. It could be possible that J.S.Bach and Jeff Beck
has the common ancestors in old times…

Agreed…a few years back I discovered the Philadelphia Orch. version of this (instrumental only) and it’s about the same tempo. Many will say this slower tempo isn’t true to Baroque, but I disagree.

    Friend Adder Bot

So that would mean Glenn Beck… let’s leave it right there.
I am not an onomastic, but I think “Beck” stems from the root of today’s “Bäcker” (baker) and the names are not etymologically related.

I wonder Jahann Sebastian Bach and Jeff Beck have the common Anglo-Saxon origine?
The German word “Bach” means “Beck” (narrow river) in
English. And both these people are excellent musicians…
