December 15, 2008 - 4:04 pmdid you really? that is so amazing! what is Mr. Scholl like? I adore his voice; and Ton Koopman? I’m really a fan of his direction of the Amsterdam choir (is it?) singing BWV 131!
simply beautiful!

December 18, 2008 - 7:35 pmDear Jesus/God …this is beautiful. My favorite solo in the work. This idea is good, a little out of sink in places, but thank you, thank you. Please do same with Sop.1/ Alt. duet : “Et in unum Domininum Jesum Christum”

December 20, 2008 - 2:32 amCrystal Clear notes!!!! Oh my god! Just so beautiful. So serene and solemn, Almost unBach like with the superchromaticism in this piece. So spooky. But still beautiful.

December 24, 2008 - 5:16 amHow beautiful! I was lucky enough to sing Händel’s Messiah with Mr. Scholl under the direction of Ton Koopman.
Have you ever heard a recording of this Agnus Dei with a male sopranist as opposed to a counter-tenor? It is quite sublime…

December 27, 2008 - 8:06 amWow! A devout Lutheran writing for a Catholic church, as Masses are usually Catholic.

January 1, 2009 - 3:33 amIt’s actually more often than not the case with multi-movement works that not every movement will be in the tonic key of the overall piece as given in the title.

January 10, 2009 - 3:45 amYou won´t be saved by your ears, but just for the flesh and blood of Jesus.
Talking and evading from His Words will just grant you weak guys applauses. You will not impress your Creator with that.
[Jn 6:53-56] “Truly, Truly, I tell you, if you do not eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.”

January 16, 2009 - 10:52 amBach was the man. So he wrote a mass in b minor while using a different key signature. Bach’s theory is just so sadistic haha

January 19, 2009 - 6:58 pmThis is a religious experience. I’d rather listen to this than go to church and listen to a minister or priest rehash outdated and unexamined positions.

January 31, 2009 - 4:55 pmBach’s genius is almost impossible to comprehend. As Goethe stated it so well, “[the music of bach] is like eternal harmony conversing with itself, the way it may have been in God’s bosom the moment before He created the world”
