Most of the time there are two kinds of guitar strings that are made.

Steel – utilized on electric and acoustic guitars

Heavy Gauge Strings

Heavier gauged strings are favored by many of todays guitarists on account of the tone and the feel of them.

Good for guitar players that prefer to have their guitars tuned down lower than standard (drop D, drop C, drop B etc.).

Will hold their support a lot longer in the drop tunings

Why Your Strings Break

While troublesome as it is, you may have guitar strings split on you, and there are many reasons for this to happen. Here are the four main good reasons that you may encounter this problem:

Extreme Performing

- This happens to be the most frequent cause for breaking strings

- This merely means that when you are tuning your guitar, an individual may wind the tuning pegs to high, giving you a damaged string.

- Because this could very easily happen, it is wise to tune your guitar with the strings facing away from you.

Sharp Items

- You may find razor-sharp areas on the guitar that are capable of busting a guitar string. These areas include things like but are not constrained to: The bridge, the nut, tuning peg.
