Obviously a lot of those answers on here are flat out wrong. It has been proven that children exposed to Mozart at a very young age have a higher IQ.

Now how much higher? Who knows… Would they have had the same IQ without Mozart? Who knows…. but they have studied this concept and come up with higher IQs for children who had listened to Mozart specifically.

NO classical music makes you smarter. I’m afraid you’re stuck with your obvious and apparent stupidity.

It has not been proven that classical music makes you smarter. Exercising your brain by learning about new subjects, doing puzzles, and doing new activities have all been shown to promote the growth of new neuronal connections.

Edit: Mellowtone: could you please direct me to the studies that proved that children who listened to Mozart at a young age had higher IQs? Also, if there are studies, did they allow for other factors that may have influenced IQ?

If you would like to impress your friends by appearing to be smart, I would suggest reading books and if you want to play some classical music in the background while reading that is ok too, but the music alone will not make you smarter.

I’d say that eating fish makes you smart, not listening to classical music.
But yeah, at least classical music won’t risk making you dumb like some stuff that’s out there.
I’d say listen to anything and then stick to what you like.
